MD Anderson Cancer Center and Kelsey Research Foundation are working together to offer this program to cancer survivors. The goal of this program is to improve physical activity and quality of life among cancer survivors in the greater Houston area. The program is provided in 12 sessions (once a week for 2 hours). A health educator will lead the sessions and teach behavioral skills to help cancer survivors incorporate moderate physical activity into daily life. Some examples of physical activity include walking, stretching, and using resistance bands. We will also provide a free pedometer, free resistance band, and information related to health issues faced by cancer survivors, including fatigue, nutrition, stress, and will refer participants to appropriate services when needed.
