President Obama and President Bush both feel very strongly about broccoli. Can you guess which one loves and which one hates it? How would you prepare it so BOTH of them would like it?
Which president LOVES broccoli?

My husband isn’t a huge fan, either, but broccolini or broccoli rabe (skinny, long-stemmed cousins) have sweeter, more flavorful stems. My favorite way to serve it is roasted, which brings out the flavor. Simply toss with good olive oil, lay out on a cookie sheet, rub with a smashed garlic clove or two (scatter on the sheet after for more garlic flavor), sprinkle with salt and crushed red pepper and top with thinly sliced lemon rounds. Throw in the oven for 10-15min and enjoy as a side (great with salmon) or with a poached or fried egg on top as a main!
OK, we all know it was George HW Bush who said he couldn’t stand broccoli, but I’ll bet he never had this amazing Creamy’ Broccoli-Basil Soup with Crisp Wonton Twists created by Kellie Anderson and featured on her blog http://www.kelliesfoodtoglow.com It has surprising twists, like pureed ashes that create layers of flavors. I posted the photo in today’s Pinterest to pique your interest.
Typo! I meant pureed cashews.
